You have completed your Lagree certification. You have your digital certificate. Now comes the part nobody talks about enough: getting in front of the right studios, securing teaching slots and building a sustainable career. Here is a practical, step-by-step guide to making it happen in Dubai.
Step 1: Start With Studios You Already Know
The most natural starting point is the studio where you built your 40 practice hours. You already have a relationship with the team, you understand the culture and they have seen your commitment to the method firsthand. Approach the studio manager directly — not via email if you can avoid it — and express your interest in joining their instructor roster.
Be specific: "I have just completed my Level 01 certification, I have been a client here for [X months], and I would love the opportunity to teach a trial class." Studio managers appreciate directness and will either welcome a trial or be honest about their current capacity.
Step 2: Create a Short Demo Reel
Before approaching studios cold, record yourself teaching a 10–15 minute class section. It does not need to be professionally produced — a clean phone video with good lighting works. What matters is that it shows:
- Your cueing voice and energy
- How you correct form in real time
- Your ability to manage a sequence smoothly
- Your personality and presence in the room
Share this proactively alongside your CV when approaching studios. A 60-second video communicates more than a two-page CV for a role that is inherently about performance.
Step 3: Approach Multiple Studios Simultaneously
Dubai has a growing number of Lagree and Megaformer-equipped studios. Do not limit yourself to one approach at a time. Research each studio's culture, pricing, clientele and teaching style — then reach out to those that feel like a genuine fit. Many openings are never publicly advertised. The best way to find them is simply to ask.
Step 4: Offer to Substitute Before Committing
If a studio does not have a regular slot available, offer to join their substitute list. Sub slots are one of the most underrated tools for new instructors:
- You get in front of new client bases with zero ongoing commitment
- You demonstrate your quality to management in a live context
- You build relationships with permanent staff
- Many regular slots are filled by substitute instructors who impressed consistently
Step 5: Build Your Instagram Presence
Dubai's fitness industry is Instagram-driven. A clean, consistent profile showing your Lagree journey — practice, certification, first classes — builds credibility and makes you searchable. Studios look at instructors' profiles before booking trials. Clients do too. You do not need thousands of followers — you need a professional presence that tells your story clearly.
Understanding Your First Contract
When a studio offers a formal arrangement, read the contract carefully. Key things to review:
- Exclusivity clauses — do they prevent you from teaching at other studios?
- Non-compete windows — what restrictions apply if you leave?
- Minimum class commitments — and what happens if you cannot fulfil them?
- Rate review schedule — when and how is your per-class rate reviewed?
Most studios do not expect exclusivity from per-class instructors — but some ask for it. Everything is negotiable, especially if you are being offered guaranteed slots in return. If you are unsure, contact us — we support our graduates through the transition from certification to employment.
